Jannah

This artwork is about the journey to Jannah.
I used intricate geometric patterns that are typical of Islamic art to give the piece a traditional touch. But I also used Riso printing technique and a limited colour palette of yellow and fluorescent pink to make it look fresh and contemporary.
I wanted to represent the journey towards Jannah in a metaphorical way, so I used a garden and a door to symbolise the final destination. The garden is like a peaceful and beautiful environment that one encounters on the way to Jannah, while the door represents the ultimate goal - entering into Paradise.
The geometric patterns break off and float away from the main composition, like they're breaking free from the constraints of the physical world. It's a metaphor for the soul's journey towards Jannah.
